Digital Bond’s Reid Wightman will be presenting Project Basecamp, News from Camp 4 on April 5th in DC. And to stay with Reid’s theme, There Will Be Blood. Actually, one of the Metasploit modules that will be released that day is the most interesting and demonstrative in Project Basecamp so far. If you need other reasons to attend, Ruben Santamarta, Eireann Leverett and Justin Searle will be presenting.
From the Kaspersky blog The Mystery of Duqu: Part 10: “The scope of activities of companies that became victims of Duqu and information targeted by the Trojan indicates that the attackers were looking for any information related to production control systems used in different industries in Iran, and for information about trade relationships of particular organizations.” I’d like to see the targeting data since we have had a false alarm on Duqu targeting in the past. If this targeting info is accurate then this is another piece of evidence that Stuxnet and Duqu could be related. Having similar or the same targets is not conclusive evidence though.
