Another great speaker added to the S4x16 Main Stage agenda. General Michael V. Hayden will give the Keynote Address on the Main Stage on the first day of S4x16, Tuesday January 12th.
Gen. Hayden is a former CIA and former NSA Director during the time when Stuxnet was created and deployed. Of course he can’t talk about any of activities from his classified government life, but you may have seen him on Meet The Press, 60 Minutes and just about every other major news show since he retired. His analysis is quite interesting, entertaining and highly applicable to the offensive and defensive cyber efforts on critical infrastructure ICS. Gen. Hayden is now a Principal with The Chertoff Group.
A couple of other additions to the agenda this weekend:
- Darren Highfill is back with The Return of the Witch Doctor … this time targeting CEO decision making. The Witch Doctor was a creative and fun session that is still referenced in numerous ICS security sessions with and without attribution to Darren.
- We have also received clearance to put a name to the Hardware Hacking Live session … Andrew Zonenberg of IOActive. Think of this session like a cooking demo on the Today show. Andrew will have boards and components in various stages of analysis and show how inexpensive and easily accessible tools can extract important information from hardware. We have some innovative plans to capture this for a large audience. You will not be a hardware hacker after this session, but you will have a better and more realistic appreciation of the risk of hardware hacking.
