The 2009 Proceedings book includes 8 papers and 192 pages of technical meat.
Multi-book orders will be available on digitalbond.com soon.
Been busy this holiday season editing and organizing the S4 2009 papers for the third edition of the Proceedings Book. Happy to say that the 192-page book was sent to the printers yesterday.
The authors stepped it up again this year. The papers have more technical detail than ever before and build on previous work in the control system security research space. A foundation is being slowly built.
All physical and virtual S4 attendees get a copy of the book, and the 2009 edition will be available via the Digital Bond site and at Amazon.com on February 1st.
The papers presented at S4 represent, in my opinion, the most technically detailed and important public discussion of SCADA security research to date. Admittedly, this is a low bar to clear since prior to S4 most public discourse was limited to broad statements and FUD.
We have published eleven of the papers in a 200 page softcover book in an effort to build a foundation of SCADA security research the community can build on.

I’ve been quiet on the blog recently for two reasons. One the holidays, and two the S4 Proceedings book which finally went to press yesterday.
The authors did a great job and I’m confident their work significantly raises the bar on SCADA security research, but editing over 200 pages of highly technical content was a very time consuming task that I thoroughly enjoyed.
