When SCADA Systems Are Attacked!
I will highlight one of the ten presentations in the Critical Infrastructure track of the InfraGard National Conference each week. I’ve challenged the industry to come up with some new and exciting ideas and information. The Conference is in Washington D.C. , August 9 to 11.
When SCADA Systems Are Attacked!
Loyal readers of this blog know that I’m sick of hearing about the Australian wastewater hack from early 2000. So we needed at least one new real world example at the InfraGard Conference.
Dick Lord of The Steadfast Group has stepped up to the challenge and will present a very interesting and recent example of a real world exploit on a control system. This example is more than a non-directed attack such as a worm or virus lose on a control network. It involved the compromise of a SCADA database, misrepresentation of data and millions of dollars of damage.
In this session Dick will go over the details of the compromise, the steps taken to recover and the security controls deployed to prevent it from happening again. This will be a fascinating session.
