Matt Franz - Alumni
Matt Franz has left Digital Bond and the SCADA security world to join Hewitt in Chicago. It is a huge loss for Digital Bond, and I would argue for the SCADA security community. Much like when he was at Cisco, Matt came into the SCADA security community, made a big impact and moves on.
Matt has a very rare combination of IT Security, SCADA Security, programming and vulnerability discovery skills - - all that and he can speak in public and write. We are always looking for Matt Franz’s; unfortunately they are hard to find.
Before he completely leaves the scene, Matt will present his paper at S4, release an ICCP tool for our vetted subscribers and probably blog a few more times.
Digital Bond has been in business since 1998 and have a number of very talented alumni. We always hope to have opportunity to work with them again in some manner.
Best of luck Matt!

Good Luck Matt! Stay in touch with us on the scadagospel e-mail reflector. Your opinions are always welcome and valued. I can’t imagine how working for an HR firm could be as interesting as what we do, so ping us if you get bored…

Jake,
Despite the fact that some of the discussions there have been pretty annoying lately (5 years after getting involved in SCADA security folks are still arguing about “IT”!!!) I haven’t unsubscribed yet from the SCADA mailing list
After doing security consulting, research, training, QA, etc. for the past 10 years I felt it was time to do something more operational focused for a change — having never worked a day (until this Monday) in an actual IT shop. BTW, there’s definitely some interesting stuff, just can’t blog about it
There are a still a few SCADA vendors (that have freely available “security” products) I haven’t “picked on” yet that I plan to target once I get settled in in Chicago. So stay tuned.
