Honeynet Project tries SCADA
Lance Spitzner and the Honeynet Project are responsible for most of the advances in Honeynet technology and is the place to go if you want to learn about Honeynets. Their technology is only slightly modified in the SCADA Honeywall VM, and their honeyd plays an important role in the SCADA Target VM.
The Honeynet Project includes 23 Alliance Members around the world who operate honeynets and share the data. They have been looking for simulations of more high value targets and SCADA certainly fits that description. In an effort to increase the amount of threat data we are working with the Honeynet Project to get more SCADA honeynets deployed.
Six Alliance Members have requested and downloaded the SCADA Honeynet VM’s and given the skill level and experience of the members they should be up shortly. We welcome any other efforts or ideas to get the SCADA Honeynet more widely deployed and better quantify and qualify the threat.
