Pre-PCSF

I’m up in Atlanta this week at the PCSF annual meeting, and I will be semi-liveblogging the next three days.

A lot of attendees came in early to participate in some pre-meetings. The DHS Control Systems Security Program Vendor Forum had a closed door all day meeting that was well attended. This group also holds monthly conference calls. It was for product vendors, e.g. Honeywell, Invensys, Telvent …,  so Digital Bond was not invited. I’ll try to get an off the record summary of events for the blog.

IEC TC65/WG10 had an all day meeting and will meet again on Thursday and Friday. I stuck my head in their for a few minutes. I know the group was pleased to have a number of asset owners/end users in attendence who probably would not have participated if it was not co-located with PCSF. Getting end users to participate in standards development is a near universal problem.

A lot of people, including myself, took advantage of the day in a series of private meetings. Just having so many people you need to talk to in the same place is very efficient.

Hi Dale hope everything goes well in Atlanta. I look forward to reading about the proceedings in the Forum. It is very difficul to attend every meeting that happens as an end user at times even ones with some excellent goals such as the PCSF has. All the best for the week ahead
