I had a chance to talk with Torsten Rossel of Innominate about a new model in their mGuard field security appliance line. The mGuard RS has support for Ethernet, dial-up and ISDN all in one small industrial appliance.

Innominate has a significant head start on the Byres/MTL product with over 10,000 sold, VPN support, and already a second generation management system. The good news is with two field security appliances available for sale we now have a market.

One last thought on ISA Expo. This show is definitely not on the same level as PCSF, SANS Security Summit, or WeissCon. There is little security at the show and not even very much on IT communications. It only makes sense if your primary interest is one of the working groups that meet at the event or non-security / non-comms parts of the show.
