Register as a Physical or Virtual Attendee

S4 is the event for those who attended PCSF, SANS Summits, WeissCon or other industry events and wanted more technical detail and discussions. S4 are technical papers presented to a technical audience with enough time to get into the specifics and have a discussion on the research. We work with the authors to insure basic material is avoided and there is significant technical meat in every paper and presentation. Those who attended S4 last year, and anyone reading the S4 2007 Proceedings, can attest to the fact this is a unique event in the control system security community.

We chased hard to again find a set of diverse, new and excellent papers for this years event. It is surprising how limited the work is in this area, but we are very excited by the papers in S4 2008. Like last year it is an interesting mix of researchers you know and respect, National Labs and other well known organizations, and some surprises you have never heard of before doing groundbreaking work in relative anonymity. Check out the full agenda, and I bet there are many papers their you will find new and highly interesting.

You have two ways to attend S4.

  • Attend in person as a physical attendee and benefit from interacting with the thought leaders in this field, enjoy Miami Beach in January, and have access to control system devices and applications. We wanted S4 to be a unique, case study environment that fostered discussions so the room and attendees are limited to 60 people. With 15 of the 60 assigned to speakers, space is limited so register early to guarantee your spot.
  • Attend virtually over the Internet. A three-pane window will show live video, PowerPoint slides, and Q&A/chat. Virtual attendees from around the world raved about the experience last year and we hope more people take advantage of it this year.

There is a lot more information in the program, and I’ll be blogging on the selected papers and other activities planned for S4 in the upcoming months.
