Friday News and Notes
- Add Mark Fabro and Lofty Perch to the list of companies reselling the DHS, INL developed CS2SAT. Their price of $399 seems more in line than the ISA price of $2,995 (which does include two hours of Wurldtech consulting).
- IEEE P1686 Standard for Substation Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) Cyber Security Capabilities was approved and issued on 11 Feb 2008. This work was done by the Substations Committee.

Is there any reason why CS2SAT is sold only through Canadian companies?

Its not for sale only through Canadian companies. I believe Lofty Perch and ISA are just the first to companies to license the tool for use….

Bryan is correct, ISA and Lofty are the first companies to be selected. ISA is not a Canadian company but services the global community. Lofty Perch is headquartered in Canada but also has a customer base globally. Both companies can license the tool to asset owners in both the US and Canada and other regions as well.

As far as I understand, ISA is a non-profit organization. This leaves Wurldtech and Lofty Perch as the first commercial entities to sell (license) CS2SAT. I was just wondering about the coincidence that both companies are headquartered in Canada. No criticism implied.
