IEEE HST 2009 Conference
The 2009 IEEE International Conference on Technologies for Homeland Security (HST 2009) is happening this week in the Boston, MA area. I’ll be presenting on Bandolier in the “Cyber Infrastructure Architecture and Experience” track.
Many of the topics discussed will be from a broader homeland security perspective than I typically deal with. (Example: there’s a poster session on “Simulating and Evaluating Blast Effects on Critical Infrastructure Assets”) I’m looking forward to that aspect of the conference as well as meeting people with some diverse backgrounds. There are a few familiar names on the agenda from the control system security community, but there are a host of others in the tracks that cover everything from Physical Security to WMD Detection to Counter IED Technology.
With the wealth of experience that looks to be represented across the various disciplines, I’m hoping to learn something about the broader context of security that will perhaps apply to control systems or at least contribute to some additional perspective. Should be a fun event. I’ll keep you updated.
