Security Center 4

On Monday Tenable Security released Security Center 4. The update includes a number of new features including user tracking, database activity monitoring, anomaly detection and forensics. The new release includes improved integration with the Nessus vulnerability scanner, the Log Correlation Engine and the Passive Vulnerability scanner.

The database activity monitor uses the passive vulnerability scanner to observe queries and changes to MySQL, MS SQL and Oracle databases. The new user tracking feature helps monitor insider threats. The Log Correlation Engine monitors for system events which can be associated to login IDs. Those system events can be used to track logins, login failures, repeated login attempts and access from new devices.

The new monitoring capabilities, along with all of the previous information collected by the Security Center suite, provide a more comprehensive and holistic view of the security status. The release also includes a new set of dashboards to facilitate the monitoring and reporting.

As many of our readers know that we recently released a SEM integration package for Portaledge. We will be testing our SEM package with the new Security Center to ensure compatibility.

Full Disclosure: Tenable Security partnered with Digital Bond in the Bandolier and Portaledge projects.
